SEND Learning Support Assistant

Netforte Education and 123Teachers are currently looking to recruit a qualified SEND Learning Support Assistant who can work 1:1 with a challenging student within one of our County Durham Schools, with an immediate start available upon clearance to work.
Acting as the main school contact for this secondary student, you will be responsible for helping to keep them engaged during lessons and assisting them to complete work set by the teacher.
Please note this is a physical role as at times this student can exhibit challenging and sometimes aggressive behaviour. As such, the successful candidate will need to be physically fit, possess a resilient nature and also have De-escalation/restraint training.
Due to the nature of this role, applicants MUST possess the following:
- A minimum qualification of Cache Level 2 Teaching/Learning Support Assistant
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
- A caring, patient and understanding nature
- Experience of working within an SEND environment
- Team Teach or other physical restraint/De-escalation training
Your duties will include:
- Helping to deliver and explain lessons to the student
- Assisting with work set by the teacher
- Recording pupil progress and monitoring both inside and outside of classroom
- Performing manual restraint when required
