Job Description/ Key Tasks

• Develop payment methodology options with key stakeholders to support government contracts using sound financial controls.

• Bid evaluation to support procurement of critical DWP services

• Providing financial analysis to support provider financial negotiations.

• Operate an open book contract management approach to support our senior managers and our external contractors to drive up performance and improve value for money.

• Manage financial risk in accordance with the Outsourcing Playbook, ensuring early warning and effective mitigation strategies are in place to support the business

• Analyse and interpret supplier financial accounts as part of procurement activity and ongoing contract management to ensure suppliers have sufficient financial standing to safely deliver public services, including understanding application of IFRS (eg IFRS 15 Revenue from Contracts, IFRS 16 Leases)

Experience Required

• Financial analysis and modelling skills

• Experience in a Commercial Finance/Outsourcing environment

• Understanding of financial accounts and analysis techniques

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

• Ability to work in a fast pace environment, to multi task and work across boundaries, demonstrating resilience.

• Excellent collaboration and partnering skills.

• Qualified Accountant is preferred however part-qualified will be considered

Selection Criteria

• Ability to analyse and interpret complex financial data and present in a concise easily understandable format.

• Sound understanding of financial accounts including ratios and trend analysis to identify emerging risks with supplier financial position

• Able to develop and maintain working relationships across team boundaries
